I just read this article about the bot fly belonging to the family of oestridae.

This bugger is designed specifically for a certain species.

There are horse bot flies, sheep nose bot flies etc ...

And of course human bot flies.
Those buggers lay their eggs onto a mosquito that is likely to hunt a human and once the mosquito lands the human body heat makes the egg hatch.
thats where the larva eats theought the skin and burries itself, living and eating away.

This thing can hatch anywhere. Even found in peoples brains.

Found in central and south america.

My neighbor actually told me a story about a guy who seemed to have had thebotfly larva eating away the guys brain, when he spent a few months in the amazon

Hahaha is that where that joke came from? I saw it in a comic strip somewhere online. I thought it was funny because when I was reading this thread my sister mentioned somebody in "Trekkies 2" who said she wanted "She's dead, Jim" on her tombstone.

Wow, that's going to be a sweet death.

If I were to have a headstone, I would want it to say "I told you I wasn't feeling well. . . "

Hi,

My name is Dash. I am actually only 17, but my brain is probably about 60 with vast amounts of knowledge in fields such as sociology, philosophy, religion, and different types of science, from neuroscience to cosmology...
I love trying to answer the big questions in life, which is why I created a forum this month - scienceandtheories.freeforums.org. That is actually how I met Vincent, who I asked to join my newly created forum. He then reffered me here, which is, you guessed it, how I found this place. I really think he has a great idea, and he thinks I have a great idea, answering questions such as "What is the meaning to life?" can be, at the very least, incredibly interesting (or perhaps entertaining ;-)).

I really want to create awareness about the big questions in life. I would love to influence the adults of tomorrow to develop an interest for the topic. My website is mostly aimed at answering the big questions scientifically, but I also encourage every opinion, you can answer religiously, philosophically, or however you would like!

Perhaps our sites will merge or at the very least support eachother.

Look forward to everyone's response.
